Have you ever been cruising along, feeling super focused on your goals and then BAM! life comes along and completely derails you? Maybe you have a rough day at work that zaps your energy or one too many glasses of wine at girls’ night and, suddenly, your whole routine is shaken up and your productivity mojo totally tanks.
It happens to all of us.
In theory, we should be able to just shake it off and jump right back on the horse, right? Except in reality, what happens to most of is is that we immediately get down on ourselves for getting off track, get sucked into a spiral of negativity and kiss our goal-crushing mojo goodbye.
A Course in Miracles teaches us that forgiveness is the key to release ourselves from all suffering and guilt. When are feeling angst or guilt over falling off the wagon in our spiritual practice or some other goal, all we need to do is learn to forgive ourselves and we’re the hook. Lesson 193 of the Course states, “I will forgive, and this will disappear.” Through this practice of self-forgiveness, we can literally wipe away the past, all of our perceived mistakes, and bring ourselves back into the present moment where possibilities are infinite. We can then “remain unbound, in peace eternal in the world of time.” (ACIM)
