Everything you desire is within your reach.
I was having brunch with one of my best friends last Sunday. We were having a conversation that turned into an impromptu coaching session. (I love when that happens). I felt my soul say, “Yessss” as my coaching muscles kicked into high gear. We were talking about following your dreams and how, in reality, we are the only ones who hold ourselves back from going after what we really want in life. We limit ourselves with our own perceptions of what we can and can’t accomplish, of what we think we are and aren’t capable or deserving of. For many of us, this means sentencing ourselves to a life of mediocrity, of low level dissatisfaction and discontent.
The problem is, we get so used to this low level dissatisfaction that we actually want to stay there because it’s comfortable, and so we continue to ignore the whispers and nudges from our true inner self telling us to reach higher, dream bigger.
So we become stagnant, frustrated, and frankly, we feel a little dead inside. All of this is because we’re denying ourselves the experience of who we know deep in our soul, we’re truly meant to be. On the other hand, when we have the courage to listen to those whispers and nudges, to rise up and take action in the direction of our dreams in spite of the fear, that’s when life really starts to get good. Because that’s when we truly come alive.
Here’s the thing. the Universe wants to see you succeed and will make every effort to ensure you don’t try to cop out on your dreams. And so, eventually, whether we like it or not, those whispers become louder, the nudges become shoves and the discomfort becomes so unbearable that we literally have no choice other than to make a change. Those moments of forced change, when it feels like our entire lives are in an upheaval, are often the most transformative, but they’re also some of the most painful. It doesn’t have to be that way though. Listen to the whispers. Follow the nudges. Take bold steps in the direction of your dreams, in spite of your fear.
Say what’s on your mind. Sign up for the class. Ask the guy out. Start the blog.
Listen to your soul, she’s talking to you.
